Sabiona (Klausen/Chiusa)
Sabiona: this is one of the very important historical sites in the Tyrolean territory. It was the first seat of the local bishopric (Sabiensis episcopus) from about AD 500. About AD 1000 the bishop moved his seat to Brixen/Bressanone.
At the foot of Sabiona there is a very small town, Klausen/Chiusa. Here I had an excellent beer (local brew). - click on image to enlarge -
