St. Oswald (Sciliar)

In the Isarco Valley there is at the foot of the Sciliar (picture above) a tiny hamlet, St. Oswald. Here you'll find in an old barn a little museum on rural life in older times (see pictures below).

Bolzano - more flowers

This week more blossoms came out in Bolzano, at least a fortnight earlier than the last year: see a corresponding forsythia picture from 2006 march 27 in http://vitaalpina.blogspot.com/2006/04/revolution.html.

GrandHotel Karersee (Bolzano) - Agatha Christie

Among other famous guests of the GrandHotel Karersee there has been Agatha Christie (in the 1920ties). As the saying goes "The Big Four" took inspiration here.

Dosso di Costalta (Trento)

Excursion to the Dosso di Costalta (1955m asl): marvellous vantage point in the Dolomites, though today it was rather cloudy and we had a rather icy breeze. In the picture below a glimpse towards the Brenta mountains (3150m asl).

GrandHotel Karersee (Bolzano)

Grand Hotel since 1896, 1600 m a.s.l., a golf course since 1910, this building is still very fascinating, due also to the truly impressive landscape: the Rosengarten with peaks reaching 3000 m on the one side (see picture above and the last two) and the Latemar on the other (see the next two pictures).

Rodeneck (near Brixen)

Yesterday the weather was very fine and I had a nice walk in Rodeneck. Now there are only few buildings like that in the picture: an old and characteristic barn of older times.

Bolzano - no snow

There i no snow yet near Bolzano, only on the higher mountains (above 2000 m asl, the Rosengarten in the picture below reaches almost 3000 m) some white patch can be seen.

Prissian is a little hamlet about 10 km from Bolzano. There was very little light left to take pictures of some remarkable old building.
